Welcome to our page dedicated to information about our new Children’s Ministry and Youth space.

This morning, Sunday 23rd August, Pastor Ross with Claire, the Chair of the Board of Elders, made an announcement about some changes to our Children’s Ministry and Youth space. Click here to read the statement.

When can I see the space?

The unit is on the ground floor of Reinacherstrasse 131.

The first opportunity to go inside will be on Saturday 5th September during our Prayer Morning. We will be taking time to walk through the rooms and pray for our children, our youth, their teachers and helpers, and God’s vision for the Children’s and Youth Ministries.

Some Answers to Some Questions

The new space is on the ground floor of Reinacherstrasse 131, just a few steps from our current premises.

We are moving the older children and younger Youth because our current ministry space is overcrowded which creates potential safety concerns and limits effective teaching. The new building provides more room, better organization, and safer movement. The new space next door will provide a safer, more comfortable, and more engaging environment for our children and volunteers. In addition, the reduction in headcount on the third floor Reinacherstrasse 129 ensures we remain within safe limits.

As part of ‘Building to Belong’ we believe that this provides a wonderful opportunity for the children’s ministry and youth ministry to create an environment that supports age-appropriate learning, spiritual formation, emotional development and spiritual belonging.

We explored this option thoroughly. At this time, no suitable building is available that meets our needs, and even if one were, we do not yet have the capital for a down-payment, the renovations or the monthly rent. We continue to look for a larger permanent church home and explore financing.

Yes, the new space is safe. We are implementing:

  • Controlled access
  • Inter-building communication
  • Trained volunteers
  • Clear drop‑off and pick‑up procedures
  • Emergency protocols
  • Health, Safety and Fire compliance with appropriate training

Specific details will be available as they are confirmed.

Currently, we are planning that the older Sunday School classes will move (Green and Blue classes).

What about the youth?

The younger Youth class (Fuel, Grades 6-8 or 12-14 years) will also move to their own dedicated room in the new premises. The older age group (Grade 9-12 or ages 15-18) will not move building.

Yes, all teachers and volunteers will receive training on safety, emergency procedures, and classroom flow.

Yes,  absolutely. The first opportunity to see it in person will be at our Prayer Morning on Saturday 5th September.

More dates and opportunities will  published soon, and we will also provide photos, maps, and videos.

We are planning for an October launch.

The Board of Elders have chosen to to borrow the required funds from Crossroads’ New Building Capital Fund and ask the congregation to replenish that fund through giving. This allows us to move forward immediately without delaying ministry or losing the opportunity to acquire space so close to our current premises.

Why are we borrowing from the capital fund?

When the 2026 budget was agreed, we did not know that this opportunity would become available and therefore it was not budgeted for. The capital fund exists to support building‑related needs. Borrowing from it temporarily is the most responsible way to meet this urgent need while maintaining financial stability. We are asking the church family to help replenish the capital fund so that our long‑term building plans remain fully supported.

When do we need the funds replenished?

Our goal is to replenish the capital fund by December 2026.

Thank you for asking. You can give through all the usual ways:

  • Online giving
  • Sunday offerings
  • Bank transfer

Mark your gifts ‘Building to Belong’ otherwise they will go to our general tithes and offerings.

How can I support beyond giving?

Pray for the transition, encourage our children’s ministry team, and share the vision with others who may want to support the project.

We will also need volunteers to move furniture, perform small DIY-type tasks, set up equipment.

We are always looking for more Sunday School and youth teachers and helpers!

For the first few weeks after the launch we will also need extra volunteers to help the processes run smoothly.

We will update this webpage as more information becomes available,
and we will continue to keep you updated during the Sunday services.
