The Alpha Course "The Alpha course is designed primarily for people who aren’t churchgoers and each course is open to everyone who would like to attend. People attend for a wide variety of reasons - some want to investigate whether God exists, others may have attended church occasionally but feel they have never really understood the basics of the Christian faith. People come from many different backgrounds and hold many different viewpoints. The course is based around small groups of about 12 people and most begin with a meal or refreshments – a chance to get to know others in the group. Each week, the talk looks at a different aspect of the Christian faith, followed by a discussion in the small groups. The emphasis is upon exploration and discovery in a relaxed and informal environment." Source: http://www.alpha.org/home. Email "alphabasel_en at hotmail dot com" for class information.
Youth Alpha The Youth program follows the same weekly topics as the regular Alpha Course, but is designed to be relevant to the younger audience. Specially-designed manuals for Youth Alpha are aimed for age groups: 12 -17 years. The syllabus is the same as the main Alpha course - it's based on the book "Questions of Life" - and training manuals give guidelines on how to communicate the course to youngsters.
